Our story, rooted in service and tradition

At Arlington National Bagpiper, our connection to this ancient instrument is deeply rooted in service, remembrance, and tradition. The sound of the Great Highland bagpipes has long accompanied moments of honor—farewells, tributes, and reflections on lives lived with purpose. We are dedicated to carrying forward that tradition with the dignity it deserves, providing powerful and solemn tributes when words alone fall short.

The path of a piper

Charles Reynolds has dedicated himself to the bagpipes since 2004, honing his craft under the guidance of several distinguished Grade 1 professional instructors. His commitment to service extends beyond his music; Charles currently serves as a Firefighter with the District of Columbia Fire Department, an experience that further deepens his understanding of honor, duty, and solemn remembrance. It is this unique blend of personal dedication and professional service that forms the foundation of Arlington National Bagpiper.

A profound sense of honor

When the notes of the bagpipes fill the air, especially during moments of farewell, we hope to instill in families a profound sense of overwhelming satisfaction and pride for their loved one. Our goal is to provide a tribute that resonates deeply, honoring the life and legacy with a sound that is both mournful and majestic, leaving families with cherished memories of a truly dignified commemoration.

Moments of solemn reflection

While often associated with funerals and memorial services, the powerful resonance of the bagpipes extends beautifully to other significant moments of remembrance. We are honored to provide our services for remembrance ceremonies, private tributes, and events where a unique expression of honor is desired. The bagpipes add a certain amount of solemnity and remembrance that other ceremonies might lack, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of respect and dignity.

"The bagpipes’ voice is uniquely suited to honor sacrifice, service, and legacy, adding a profound solemnity and remembrance that truly elevates any ceremony."
